Total shock best describes how Soso resident Teresa Sullivan felt when she heard her name called as the 2018 Ellisville State School Employee of the Year.

During a recent luncheon on the ESS campus, Sullivan was recognized as the winner of the award out of a group of outstanding direct support professionals. Each year a special awards committee selects four direct support employees from various programs and units to receive Employee of the Year honors. The four winners were selected from more than 40 direct support professionals who were chosen as Employee of the Month winners in 2018. The committee then selected the overall winner – Ms. Sullivan– from the group of four.
Other winners from their respective programs were Tracy Bridges of Hillside Unit; Donnie McDonald from Pecan Grove Unit; and Alicia Nelson at Paul D. Cotten, Sr. Unit. Sullivan works with Community Programs.
